Access security and interface convenience shape how confidently a team works with customers every day. When access is protected by flexible rules, analytics can be read at a glance, and there’s nothing extra in the conversation window, work goes faster and calmer.
We’ve released a NovaTalks update with several improvements at once – from a password policy and a new Signal channel to reworked online reports and a more convenient conversation window. Below we explain what exactly changed and how it helps in daily work.
The Update at a Glance
In a single update, the platform gained five noticeable improvements. We’ve put them in one table for a quick overview.
| Update | What it gives |
| Password policy | Your own rules for complexity, history, and password expiry, plus brute-force protection |
| Signal channel | Communication with customers in Signal through a single corporate number |
| Reworked online reports | Faster, clearer analytics: filter chips, a metrics panel, and status in one click |
| More space in the conversation window | A more compact interface and more room for the dialogue |
| Microsoft email (Single-Tenant) | Isolated, secure authorization for the email channel |
Below we break down each update in more detail.
Password Policy: Security on Your Terms
A new “Password policy” tab has appeared in the account settings. Now you set your own rules for passwords.
- Password complexity. Minimum length and a mandatory presence of uppercase and lowercase letters, digits, or special characters.
- History and expiry. A ban on reusing old passwords and a period after which the password must be changed.
- Auto-lockout. Protection from brute-force: the number of attempts and the lockout time are flexibly configurable.
- Magic link for newcomers. New agents no longer need to be handed passwords – they receive an email with a link and create a password themselves.
- Access recovery. The “Forgot password?” feature can be enabled or disabled as needed.
- Strength checklist. In real time, the user sees which password requirements have already been met.
The policy applies to users with email authentication; LDAP accounts work as before.
The New Signal Channel
Signal, a channel for those who value secure communication, is now available in NovaTalks. With it you get:
- the ability to message new customers first in Signal by phone number;
- all communication with customers through a single corporate number;
- storage of the entire communication history in NovaTalks.
To connect the channel, contact our support team for details and instructions.
Reworked Online Reports
Online monitoring is what a supervisor looks at every day. We reworked the online reports to make analytics faster and clearer.
- Flexible filter setup. A new slide-out side panel simplifies choosing parameters, and active filters are shown as chips above the table.
- Metrics visualization. A panel with key indicators has appeared above the tables, and color thresholds immediately highlight a problem.
- One-click status control. The “Status” cell in the Agent Status report has become a dropdown list – change an agent’s state right in the table, without extra modal windows.
More Space in the Conversation Window
We’ve freed up as much space as possible for communicating with customers.
- A compact top bar. The conversation header now takes up just one line.
- More room for the dialogue. All the freed-up space is given directly to the correspondence.
- Compact email addresses. Recipient addresses in emails now look like convenient pills.
- Less clutter on the screen. The text formatting panel and the Cc and Bcc fields for the email channel can be hidden when they aren’t needed.
Secure Connection of Microsoft Email
For companies with strict security requirements, we’ve added support for Single-Tenant Azure apps for the Microsoft email channel. Just enter your Tenant ID in the email channel settings, and authorization will work in a reliable, isolated mode.
